A few months ago, a video went viral from a protest in Georgia (the country) in which a person took on the cops using a firework cannon.

While fireworks had been used in protests before, there was something about this video that captured the imagination. Now, it seems that the behavior on display here has been brought stateside.

LAPD is claiming that protesters are throwing “commercial-grade fireworks” at them, which is cop-speak for “fireworks you can buy at a store.”

While there haven’t been many injuries reported as a result of these fireworks, the videos emerging from the events are pretty wild. Here’s just a taste:
