"Raunchy Garlic Ad" Causes Stir in Korea
Published 3 years ago in Funny
Indeed, a recently-aired ad by Hongseong County in South Korea, a region famous for its high-quality garlic, has ruffled the feathers of many farmers and agricultural associations in the area. Many have called it “suggestive” and “inappropriate" and that it “sexually objectified” garlic.
After the initial uproar, in which numerous associations called for those who produced the video to be punished, the video was taken down by the Hongseong association that published it and removed from the numerous billboards using its images as promotional material.
Hongseong county is yet to release an official statement on the matter after being given a deadline by the aforementioned agricultural associations of August 10th to respond.
