Congratulations — you’ve just had a child. Now, your kid’s doctor needs to scare them to make sure their senses work.

If you’re a parent, this idea might not shock you, but if you’ve never had kids or just think the little wet freaks are disgusting, you might not know that pediatricians can check for cognitive and other issues in babies by testing their reflexes. This occasionally involves just intentionally freaking them out and seeing what happens, as this video shows.
