Rich People Are Paying Sherpas to Carry Them Up Mountains So They Can Say They’ve Climbed Them
If you have enough money, you don’t even need to hike!

What’s the hardest climb in the world? Ask an experienced climber, and they might say Annapurna or K2.
However, those names don’t carry the same esteem as Everest. Despite being the highest mountain in the world, most experts don’t even put it in their top five most difficult peaks. Still, people want to have Everest on their list of life experiences. And so, every year, the wealthy among us decide to drop tens of thousands of dollars in order to attempt to summit it.
But, seeing as they’re wealthy, they don’t exactly like doing all of the work associated with climbing Everest. This is why they have Sherpas carry most of their stuff — or, if they get especially tired, themselves.
