Riders on New ‘Tilt’ Rollercoaster Got Stuck While Tilted

Well, this was always a risk, I guess.

Getting on a new roller coaster is both exciting and terrifying — exciting because, hey, it’s a roller coaster, and terrifying because it’s being operated by a bunch of teenagers.

While we’d like to think that roller coasters are perfectly safe, there’s actually no federal regulation on them, and while many states have regulations about roller coasters, most parks operate on a policy of self-regulation.

Which brings us to Cedar Point’s new roller coaster, “Siren’s Curse.” On a recent run, the roller coaster tilted downwards — and kept the passengers in the downward-tilted position. It then stayed that way for about 10 minutes, presumably causing everyone on the ride to feel a rush of blood to the head like never before.

Eventually, the passengers were able to be removed from the ride, and the ride was closed for around 25 minutes to get fixed. Hope these riders brought a Tylenol for the headache!
