In the U.S., our infrastructure is, well, let’s just say it could be better. The roads in most cities are absolutely terrible, and if we can get through a month without a bridge collapse, it’s pretty lucky.
Sometimes, issues like these arise simply due to age and poor maintenance. Other times, extreme weather conditions cause problems. For example, a recent heatwave in Missouri caused a road to suddenly buckle — and send a car flying.
