As a climber, you’re supposed to do a series of checks before ascending a wall. However, if you’ve climbed a lot, it can be easy to forget some of these steps, simply because the process feels natural to you.

Forgetting these steps is, to put it lightly, a big mistake. If you don’t perform all the tests, you could end up like this guy, who nearly suffered a major injury after falling and failing to secure himself to a line.
