People Are Making A.I. Videos of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Committing Crimes

This isn’t going to end well.

Yesterday, OpenAI released Sora, a video app that lets users create and watch A.I.-generated content. And while Sam Altman himself admitted the app could be used for harm, and could possibly be “addictive,” he’s enjoying all the memes of himself — even if those memes are A.I.-generated CCTV videos of him stealing.

According to Gabriel Petersson, an OpenAI employee who works on Sora, a video he made of Altman caught stealing GPUs from Target was the “most liked video” on Sora yesterday.

And it appears Altman doesn’t mind the attention, posting on X that seeing a “feed full of memes of [himself]” was “way less strange than expected.”

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of videos of Altman out there, featuring the OpenAI CEO running from angry mobs, dancing around in a furry cat suit, as a homeless man ranting against technology and even appearing as Lex Luthor.

But while it’s easy for Altman to laugh off fake videos of himself, it won’t be as easy for you or I to do the same.
