You may vaguely remember the vet who started a GoFundMe in 2018 to raise $1 billion to finish building a wall between Mexico and the U.S. Now those organizers are being charged with defrauding donors.

Specifically, Steven Bannon and Brian Kolfage (the vet) were found to have taken a combined $1.3 million of the money and used it for themselves, despite repeatedly telling people that all the money would go to the wall.

Brian used some of his money to buy a boat and refurbish parts of his house (and possibly his wife), and in this clip from 2019, Steve Bannon openly jokes about Brian doing just that.

While they never got close to their $1 billion goal, they did raise $25 million. Some of it coming from people like this seven year-old boy who donated $22,000.
