Schools Are Finally Banning Smartphones in Classrooms
School is back in session, and that means it’s time for students to put down their paper, pens and… iPhones?

According to ABC, 17 states have imposed new restrictions on phone usage during school hours, bringing the total number of states with such bans to 35.
Now, I’m from an era when if you wanted to text in class, you had to do so with your phone in your pocket like you were sending Morse code. So I personally don’t think texting in class is a sin. Other people, though? Not so much.
Take Mark Zuckerberg. He sends his children to a small private school that doesn’t allow screens of any kind, say for the odd projector or classroom television, and he’s been very vocal about how he restricts his children’s screentime. Furthermore, programs from the early aughts that tested the impact of laptops in the classroom showed little to no positive effects on students’ standardized testing scores, though they did “increase students’” access to information.
Not to mention, if having 24/7 access to the internet was good for us, then why are we all out of our minds these days?
