College Students Screaming ‘6 7’ Behind News Reporter Strengthen Case That ’Everyone Is 12’

You’re not imagining things; everyone has gotten dumber.

A few weeks ago, X user Patrick Cosmos introduced his new “unified theory of American reality,” which states that the reason everything in America feels broken is simple: “everyone is twelve now.” And it’s actually a pretty good starting point.

Do you want to have fifty kids and live on a farm? You’re twelve. Do you hate vegetables and only eat steak and eggs? You’re twelve. Do you want to use AI to direct your own version of the Avengers? Congrats, you’re twelve.

Which brings me to the ‘6 7’ meme.

The ‘6 7’ meme isn’t inherently a sign that society has regressed into a middle-school cafeteria so much as it is a sign to adults that they’ve officially aged out of popular internet humor. But the way the meme manifests in the wild, as seen being shouted by a group of college students, is absolute confirmation of Cosmos’ theory.

Drunk college students disrupting a new broadcast isn’t news, however, the kid screaming ‘6 7’ repeatedly, as his friends laugh, egging him on, to the socialized people among us, shakes us to our core.

Not only is “everyone twelve,” everyone is increasingly annoying.
