To America, Chinese and French sounds like gibberish. We can imitate the sounds and the gestures, but were not really saying or understanding any of it. The concept is true for the opposite. This must be how English sounds to foreigners. Even though its gibberish, I keep thinking I kind of understand what they are saying.
