System of a Down is one of the strangest bands to find mainstream success. Don’t get me wrong, they’re fantastic, but listening to their music, you can’t help but feel that you’re listening to a group of people who are, at the very least, a *touch* unhinged.

As it turns out, that feeling extends to their fans, who use the band’s concerts to get up to all sorts of antics. At a recent show in Peru, some fans snuck in flares and decided to light them mid-show — making for both a terrifying experience and an absolutely awesome-looking display.

In System of a Down’s concert at Perú, people smuggled multiple flares and lit them all at once at once. All hell broke loose.
