If you live next to a glacier, there’s always a possibility that the thing will collapse and really rock (pun unavoidable) your whole world. Unfortunately for the residents of Blatten, Switzerland, that’s exactly what happened yesterday, with the glacier’s predicted collapse going through exactly as expected.
As this was predicted by scientists in advance, the town was fully evacuated, and while one man in his 60s is currently unaccounted for, the overwhelming majority of the townsfolk are safe, though plans regarding how they will be rehoused, or if the town will be rebuilt, are presently uncertain.
