The people of Houston, Texas, have noticed loud noises overhead over the last few days, causing many of them to fear that they were being invaded. In a message posted on X by the Houston Police Department, authorities have attempted to ease residents' nerves about why Black Hawk helicopters have been flying low over their city.

The Department of Defense (War), in accordance with the Houston Police Department, has been conducting “training” over Houston, which locals can expect to continue until September 18th, according to the Houston Police Department.

The notice warns residents that they may hear or see helicopters over their city, but assures Houston residents that this type of training is “very common” and that there is nothing to worry about. Despite the training exercises taking place over a city of 2 million people, there will be no “public viewing opportunities planned during the exercise,” according to the memo.
