The Las Vegas Hyperloop Gets Stuck, Carries Basically No One
The “future of public transportation” looks pretty bad.

When Las Vegas debuted their “hyperloop,” the response was mixed-to-negative. Is it technically cool to be driving around in a car underground? I mean, sure — but is it the most effective way to move people from point A to point B? Almost surely not.
Now, that feeling has been supported by both anecdote and data. Multiple internet users have shared stories about getting stuck in traffic while in the tunnels, and, while the hyperloop boasts 3.5 miles of operational tunnels and eight stations, it has only offered just over three million rides across its years of operation. This may sound like a lot, but for context, New York’s 4/5/6 trains carry about 1.3 million people every single day.
Turns out, if you want to move people around, the best options are still “bus” and “train.”
