These Interactions With Grok’s New ‘Companion’ Are Pathetic
You don’t need to pay $300 per month to pretend you’re dating an anime lady.

Recently, Grok, the A.I. that’s connected to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), announced that subscribers to SuperGrok — i.e., those who pay $300 per month to use the service — would now be able to access a service called “Companion.” Companion, as it turns out, is an A.I.-powered anime lady.
Now, people are posting their interactions with the companion and, well, it’s just sad, really. Watch for yourself.
Had the new Grok waifu talk to Claude voice mode.

Tell me this doesn't sound EXACTLY like an egirl trying to rizz up an autistic guy at an SF party? pic.twitter.com/3hM1ZDoI4M

Just had a blast chatting with my AI companion @AniAnichat on the @Grok app pic.twitter.com/il1aQxFFge
Hey @elonmusk, your new GrokAI companion isn't working as intended.

I use Grok to escape from the real world. I was hoping that with this new feature I wouldn't have to get a girlfriend that would lie and yell at me. I will be unsubscribing from SuperGrok if you don't fix this. pic.twitter.com/tFWgdHgH7k
