China is home to 1.4 billion people and is the second-most populated country in the world, with the largest middle class estimated at over 500 million people. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that during the summer months, the beaches get crowded.

But damn, this might be the most people I’ve ever seen at a beach in my life. So next time you’re complaining about crowds blowing up your local swimming hole, just remember, it could be much, much worse.

Sand? What sand? It’s just towels, umbrellas and wall-to-wall humans.
