Watch This Guy Realize Y2K Wasn’t Happening in Real Time

What a letdown.

Remember Y2K? If you do, hope you have your will ready!

For those of you who don’t, there was a belief that, as computers had largely been programmed with their years in a two-digit format, they would all be bricked by the time the year 2000 came. Computers, it was thought, couldn’t process going from 99 to 00 — and so, everyone got their panties in a twist thinking that the world would collapse on midnight of January 1, 2000.

In reality, nothing happened. Well, there were a few scattered incidents here and there, but it wasn’t the problem that many people thought it would be — mostly due to the fact that a bunch of computer systems updated to prevent the problem from occurring in the first place.

At the time, however, people didn’t know how it was going to turn out. This guy, for example, spent his New Year’s Eve checking his computer to make sure his files were fine — and he filmed the whole thing!
