‘You’ve Won the Booby Prize’: Dispatcher Makes Fun of An Actual Karen Who Won’t Stop Calling 911

A classic “story with no heroes.”

Karen Clinton is what could charitably be described as a “concerned citizen.” Over the past 15 years, Clinton has called the police over 180 times, almost always for traffic issues in her neighborhood. As a result, the police have been brought to her home hundreds of times.

One 911 dispatcher was fed up with being called for apparently minor issues. And so, she rang up Clinton and said the following: “You win the prize. It’s called the Booby Prize. You are the dumbest person to call the police department on a repeated basis. So, thank you for being a resident of this city and have a wonderful life.”

On the one hand, you shouldn’t call random citizens and tell them they’ve won “the booby prize.” On the other, it’s possible that Karen was being, well, a bit of a Karen.
