What do 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto and King Kong have in common? Beyond their reputations as monsters famed for (allegedly) terrorizing women, they can now both say they’ve scaled New York City’s Empire State Building.

On Thursday, the Morbius star climbed from the iconic skyscraper’s 86th floor to the 104th floor, making him the first person to ever legally ascend the NYC landmark.

"I was more excited than nervous to tell you the truth," Leto told Today of his feat. "But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be.”

Though Leto claimed the stunt was to promote his band’s new album, several Twitter users had some very different ideas about what may have inspired his climb — specifically, hard drugs and very young girls.

“Did someone tell Jared Leto there was an underage girl at the top?” asked @america_mad, referencing the several misconduct allegations against the actor-turned-singer-turned-cult-leader-turned-free-climber.

“He heard there was a 14-year-old girl up there,”  joked @ZeroSuitCamus.

Moral of the story? If you’re under 18 and headed to the Big Apple, it might be high time to rethink your sightseeing destinations.
