The Pennsylvania authorities that apprehended convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante brought a whole new meaning to “but first, let me take a selfie,” appearing to pose for a massive group photo moments after apprehending the fugitive.

The two-week-long manhunt for Cavalcante, who escaped from Chester County Jail on August 31 days after he was sentenced to life without parole for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, finally came to an end on Wednesday just after 8 a.m., Gov. Josh Shapiro confirmed in a press conference.

Though officials remained largely tight-lipped on the details of his capture, aerial footage purportedly captured by local news outlets painted a very different picture — specifically, a selfie.

At one point in the clip, an officer can be seen orchestrating a group photo, corralling together several troopers as Cavalcante stands awkwardly in their midst, handcuffs slapped around his wrists.

We can only hope the cops in question got the Insta clout they so desperately craved — or, well, at least more than their gram-of-weed and single dollar bill-posing counterparts.
