This Trump golf course is on Lowes Island in Loudoun County, Virginia, just a few miles away from the White House.

The plaque reads: “Many great American soldiers, both of the North and South, died at this spot. The casualties were so great that the water would turn red and thus became known as ‘The River of Blood.’ It is my great honor to have preserved this important section of the Potomac River!”

The only problem here is that there was not only never a great battle here, but there were no recorded battle deaths (outside of a couple of soldiers being killed by civilians in 1861). The closest thing to what he's describing actually happened 11 miles away up stream, as was called the 'Battle of Ball's Bluff."

“No. Uh-uh. No way. Nothing like that ever happened there,” said Richard Gillespie, the executive director of the Mosby Heritage Area Association. “The River of Blood? Nope, not there.”

This seems to fit the larger trend with Trump, who also had fake Time magazines printed and distributed among his hotels.

And who can forget the counselor to the president, Kellyanne Conway's "Bowling Green Massacre", the terrorist event that never happened.
