Recently, a group called Portals debuted a live-stream camera setup that links New York to Dublin.
While the artist claims that the pieces are designed to be “sculptures that form a global network that is going to act as a bridge to a united planet,” people actually observing them have a different idea: They’re going to use them to show people on the opposite side of the world just how much of an asshole they can be.
Sorry but this portal from NYC to Dublin and where they put it is an utter disaster.

People mooning, giving the finger, junkies hanging out of it.
Such a poor representation of Ireland. Actually sad.
Like who actually thought this was a good idea. Morons.
The artist’s intentions, though admirable, missed one key thing: While setting up these Portals in cities like Vilnius, Lithuania and Lublin, Poland (two previous areas that had Portals) may have led to fun, cross-country interactions, placing them in two of the world’s drunkest, most debaucherous cities is sure to yield more interesting (read: worse) results.
People have done everything horrible that they can think of in front of these cameras. This includes but is not limited to, drugs, mooning the camera, giving people the finger, sharing racist messages, and a helluva lot more.

At least we’ve got one thing to be proud of: The Dubliners are just as bad as the Americans.
