If you were starting to wonder whether or not the United States was still the alpha world superpower it claims to be, you can rest easy knowing it still has no qualms throwing its might about on the world stage; in the form of 12U baseball.

Two days ago during the 12 and under Baseball World Cup, the US boys laid the hammer down in their opening game against New Zealand, routing the Kiwis in a whopping 43-1 victory.

Slugging five home runs and 24 hits over the four-inning affair, the game reminded everyone why there should be a mercy rule before the fourth inning of youth baseball games.

“Could’ve at least stopped at 30,” @NinjaBands commented.

The USA Baseball 12U Twitter account posted a graphic of the final result, featuring a player decked out in baseball swag.

“Someone tell me who benefits from this score?” @PeterMoylan asked.

“The oldest and greatest country on earth,” @3YearLetterman responded.

New Zealand might have us beat when it comes to things like health care or homelessness, but we all know real glory comes vicariously through our absolute stud little leaguers.
