In the face of efforts to remove them from public life, furries have continued to make a name for themselves on and offline.

For the most part, furries are harmless — I may not understand why someone would want to dress like a mascot in a Marriott convention center for six hours, but as long as they’re chill, I can’t bring myself to care about it.

That said, some people really don’t like the fur-suited among us. These people will spend the precious few years they have on this beautiful Earth getting mad at furries on the internet, doxxing them and, in some cases, trying to get them fired from their job just because they like to be scratched between the ears.

Recently, one X/Twitter user tried to rally the internet troops against a furry by the name of Dabba the Fox. However, Dabba wasn’t having it.

In response to a post calling him out for being both a furry and in the Air Force, Dabba countered that, god damn it, he went through training and has the right to do whatever he wants. “I have done absolutely nothing wrong,” Dabba wrote. “I serve my country with pride and have a hobby, maybe you should get a hobby as well since you seem to be chronically online.”

It’s not the strongest of clapbacks, but Dabba’s correct. He’s not wearing any insignias, so if he wants to wear his fur-head with an Air Force merch T-shirt and thigh-high stockings, that’s his right as an American.

Quickly, other furries — and army furries specifically — came out to support Dabba.

Two things to learn here: Don’t mess with furries online, and my goodness there are way more furries in the U.S. military than I thought. At the end of the day, who cares — if you want to deal with all the shit military members go through, you can wear whatever you want.
