Looking to enjoy conceptual artist Marina Abramović’s latest exhibition? You better be okay with bumping uglies with naked models blocking the entrance.

The Royal Academy of Arts in London’s new exhibition recounting Abramović’s decades-spanning art career is set to open to the public on Saturday, garnering hype for not only its celebration of the artist’s 50-year-long portfolio but its unique entryway, forcing visitors to squeeze between two nude models.

Though this avant har— sorry, avant-garde — entrance is supposedly designed to facilitate a "confrontation between nakedness, and the gender, the sexuality, the desire", per Andrea Tarsia, the art institution’s head of exhibitions, the display sparked a contentious debate on Reddit: Is it better to bump nuts or bump butts with the naked guy standing between you and the art?

“So guys....we going tip to tip here or dick to butt?” asked Redditor u/shizzy1234 on a r/Facepalm post recounting the exhibition, a question that launched several fiery replies.

“Hole to hole or pole to pole but never pole to hole,” advised u/Available_Poetry_723.

Though several fellow commenters were inclined to agree with this rhyming adage — including u/BrownStormy, who noted that an added bonus of going “tip to tip” is that “you can whisper ‘nice cock’ to them” — not everyone was in a consensus.

“I think you gotta give him the butt,” wrote u/ButWhatIsADog, arguing facing the nude woman, rather than the nude man, may ease some of the awkwardness. ”Tip to tip is going to be all you're thinking about. At least the other way you can focus on the naked woman in front of you.”

But regardless of whether you’re team butt to butt or nuts to nuts, one thing is certain — to paraphrase u/HBThorburn, no matter how weird it is for you, it’s 100x worse for the model whose “erection functions as a turnstile.”
