The only thing worse than getting your car stolen? Getting Kool-Aid manned through a brick wall as the carjacker drives off into the night.

This tale of automotive woe was an unfortunate reality for one British driver, who made the (almost) fatal error of letting his car heat up in his driveway last Wednesday. As he popped back to his home in South Yorkshire, England, a nearby thief decided to strike, hopping into the driver's seat and putting the pedal to the metal.

Though the driver attempted to stop the robbery, running back outside and clinging to the handle of the driver’s side door, the thief was not ready to concede, slamming the man through his brick fence as he pulled out of his driveway.

While the man ultimately lived to tell the tale, hobbling up from the ruins of his once polished front yard, his predicament could still be worse — as Redditor r/sonicboom9000  so aptly put it, “that free healthcare is definitely going to come in handy.”
