In a much less concerning example of Japan’s interest in homemade weaponry, meet Yamaguchi, a man from Zushi, Japan, who makes fully articulated and incredibly impressive blades and guns out of cardboard.

He goes by @nami_aidakko on TikTok and YouTube where he shows off his creations, as well as taking to the streets to impress, and perhaps briefly intimidate, children and adults alike with his realistic inventions and unique costume: a schoolgirl uniform complete with cardboard head, cardboard hair, cardboard headphones and cardboard cat ears.

He’s been sharing videos on both platforms for about a year now, and while his TikToks are more likely to go viral, his YouTube videos are much longer and teach viewers exactly how he makes his cardboard weapons and cardboard costume, as well as hosting several videos of him on the streets of Japan in costume, brandishing his cardboard weapons and greeting strangers.

These weapons seriously have to be seen to be believed — the way they seamlessly unfurl from their holsters on his arms is nearly indescribably impressive. Oh, and did I mention he also makes entire Gundams and unicycles out of cardboard, too?

While some people might be scared of a man in a schoolgirl uniform wielding a cardboard weapon, I have to imagine that his biggest fear is a leaky ceiling or a burst pipe. May the universe keep his cardboard dry and his content wholesome.
