Actor James Martin is a busy man. After celebrating his 31st birthday on Oscars night, where he took home an Academy Award for the short film in which he starred; An Irish Goodbye, he went back to work, not on his next film, but at Starbucks, where he holds down a job.

Pictures of Martin in his Starbucks uniform went viral days after he won his Oscar and many people were wondering why the actor had to hold down a day job. One commenter reminded people that, “The VAST majority of actors don’t make bank.” James, who also works at Scalini’s, an Italian Restaurant in Belfast, is clearly, “hustling.”

And while many people voiced their concerns for Martin, the Irish native apparently, “has plenty of assistance and help with anything he needs. He just enjoys working with people and Starbucks allows him to do that.”

It was an emotional night for Martin, as during his acceptance speech the entire audience helped sing him Happy Birthday, but he’s trying not to let fame get to his head. James’ father Ivan made it very clear that this wasn’t a pity win stating, “It won an Oscar not because James has Down's Syndrome - it's a damn good film and they all acted their socks off in it.”

After all, you can’t necessarily pay rent with an Oscar.
