Whenever someone’s just trying to have a good time, Johnny Law is never too far away. Whether you’re enjoying a joint on the street or getting up to some good ol’ fashioned public intoxication, there’s bound to be a dude with a buzzcut and badge who’s ready to tell you that what you’re doing is “against the law.”

Some take it upon themselves to rebel against these fun destroyers. Recently, one such woman was arrested for doing just that. Her weapon in this great battle? Her ---.

Last month, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, a group that unironically calls themselves “Mounties,” were summoned to an establishment after it was reported that a woman was causing a disturbance. While the Mounties were able to get her to leave, they couldn’t fully shake her away. This allegedly began a cat-and-mouse game that led to the woman placing herself in front of one of the officer’s vehicles — and twerking to her heart’s content.

“When the officer attempted to return to his police vehicle, the woman blocked his path and began ‘twerking’ while yelling obscenities at him,” reads a report from the RCMP. “The officer warned the woman that her actions would result in her arrest; however, she remained committed to her course of action.”

The Mounties weren’t going to take this sitting down, of course. After managing to stop her from rocking her booty, the officer threw some cuffs on the woman and took her to jail, where she was booked for breach of peace and public intoxication. She was then locked in a cell for the night, presumably not only to sober up but to get in a little more practice on that twerking routine.

“She came into this incident like a wrecking ball,” summarized Sargeant Wicentowich. A dated reference, but we’ll give it to him.
