It’s a bird! It's a plane! It’s a new hot guy in a cape! David Corenswet has recently nabbed the role of Superman in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. While DC fans are over the moon, one man is still weighing his thoughts on it—Corenswet’s close friend.

Guy John, @sleazysalamander on TikTok, made a video congratulating Corenswet on his achievement. But that did not stop him from making a pros and cons list of being friends with the Man of Steel.

@sleazysalamander #greenscreen congrats #davidcorenswet !! I hope youre not mad im posting this without going through your rep #superman #supermanlegacy #jamesgunn #dccomics #rachelbrosnahan #clarkkent #loislane ♬ original sound - Sally

The most obvious pro is that this buddy Corenswet just got this amazing opportunity…to pay him back. John notes that he’s picked up a couple of bills over the years in their friendship and “it’s about time [Corenswet] pays up!”

John’s list does have more cons. When your friend is about to skyrocket to superhero film status, people forget the downsides like not being able to direct or shoot any creative projects you come up with.

Most importantly, the DC scheduling demands mean less bro time.

“He’ll always be flying around and he’ll never have time to catch up, 'cause I don’t know, that’s what Superman does I guess?” says John.

And probably to most annoying to everyone surrounding an actor about to transform into a superhero: the diet and constant workouts. John simply does not “have the time or energy for that.”

Corenswet’s about to get yoked while his bestie plays video games alone. It’s a sad scene.

Though, the real-life Jimmy Olsen isn’t too sad to see his buddy get the biggest role of his life.

When you’re friend gets the best news, why not make it about yourself?
