Why pay for a pricey day at the spa when you could stand in front of an exploding vessel of beer instead?

For Brendan, an employee at Spring Park, Minnesota’s Back Channel Brewing Co., this DIY facial was all in a day’s work after a tank valve exploded during an inspection on January 23rd. Though Brendan had been tasked with merely checking the equipment, the tank was evidently less-than-thrilled with his presence, exploding straight into his chest, a nearly drunkard-strength stream of beer soaking his face and torso as he flew back onto the brewery floor.

Brendan and the brewery appeared to take the incident in stride, using the clip to tout their new “Blow Back” beer — an “obviously limited” release — in a now-viral Instagram post. Several commenters, though, gleaned an entirely different message from the ordeal: Brendan deserves one hell of a raise.

“He took that hit like a champ and popped back up for the next play,” commented chillaska. “Our boy isn’t worried about CTE in the slightest!!!”

“The first man in history to shotgun a fermentation vessel,” added flylow.cam while beard.and_butter speculated on a possible ulterior motive behind the explosion. “had to get a sneak peak of how good the beer tasted,” they commented.

All jokes aside, workplace accidents like these are preventable. To paraphrase @_austin_phelps_, things would have gone down a whole lot differently if the Flex Seal guy was there.
