While MTV’s iconic Catfish still exists in podcast form, its heyday has long since passed, which means people have to take it upon themselves to share their stories of insane catfishing behavior. Fortunately, some people are incredibly generous and willing to do just that, as TikToker Nicole recently demonstrated.

In response to a prompt asking users to share stories about the craziest thing they’ve ever done when they had a crush, Nicole shared her story featuring “very psycho behavior” that she wasn’t “recommending to anybody because it was not chill whatsoever.” We love a self-aware queen.

In the throes of her intense crush, Nicole created a fake Tinder account for her crush’s significant other, leaving it up for a month and matching with people that went to their school so that the news would get back to her crush. After Nicole had accumulated 10 to 15 matches, some of them did reach out to her crush, asking them why their SO was on Tinder if they were in a relationship.

Her crush eventually came to Nicole and asked Nicole what they should do about the situation, at which point Nicole suggested they break up with their “cheating” SO. The pair did indeed break up, and a few months later, Nicole and her crush started dating, although she never told them the truth about how they got together. They’ve since broken up, which isn’t too surprising, but considering the video has five million views, there’s a good chance her ex has seen the video and now knows the truth.

In a follow-up video, Nicole reveals that the ex she made the Tinder profile for was a man and claims he was a cheater and she just didn’t have proof, so she manufactured some. That isn’t how things like “the truth” or “evidence” work, but it’s clear that Nicole has a loose grasp on these concepts.

Commenters were appalled. Tinder itself commented, writing, “Oh that’s not…,” while another user pointed out, “Imagining the despair that girl felt trying to prove her innocence.” Another commenter argued that no man was worth this type of sin, to which Nicole responded, “You’re right, but a woman is,” and like, Nicole, come on. I thought you’d acknowledged this was an insane thing to do and felt remorse! Nobody of any gender is worth this type of sin!

Plenty of commenters told Nicole she owed the other girl an apology, to which she simply commented “No ??”, while others asked how she wasn’t completely consumed by guilt. I can tell you the answer to that one: Feeling guilty requires a conscience, and if someone had a conscience, they wouldn’t do any of this in the first place. Catfish wasn’t meant to serve as an instruction manual!
