Antibiotics Can Be a Bitch

DailyPlanet.png
I went to the doctor for what feels like the flu and he gave me penicillin.  I did have an allergy to it when I was very young, but grew out of it; however, it's kicking my ass right now.  Of course, part of it might just be the stress of my Social Security check being shorted by $500 this month, the $600+ water bill the water company seems to have billed the whole neighborhood, the rising cost of food, the rising cost of electricity (almost $300 a month now with everything cut to a minimum), and the additional cost of medications.  I'm not sure why they call the recent debt agreement "shared sacrifice" because I don't see the wealthy sacrificing anything.  Even the moderately wealthy don't seem to have to obey the rules like the rest of us.  It might not seem quite as bad if they didn't shove it in our faces.  I saw this on the way to pick up my rings that had been stolen.  I'm not sure it was worth the 70 mile drive to pick them up considering the price of gas.

I really don't hate the rich.  I've known several and been friends with a few.  I just don't see why those of us who are struggling just to survive need to take big hits to give the rich, who aren't suffering, huge tax breaks.  I really don't understand why they continue to be wasteful with water for aesthetic purposes during this drought when the rest of us are on water rationing.  Their yards are beautiful and green while our yards are dying from the heat and lack of water.  Where is that "shared sacrifice" they keep talking about on Capitol Hill?

I really didn't mean for this to be a political blog.  I'm just feeling lousy and I'm a little upset to see things like this when we aren't even allowed to use enough water to keep a small garden growing.  Gardens not only take work, but there is expense involved.  The food tastes much better fresh, but when the drought shrivels everything that the garden is trying to produce, the taste isn't quite up to par.  With the rising food prices, you have to try to do something to stay alive, though.

I'm going to run get a bank statement to try to see what happened to that $500 and be sure it wasn't a mistake by Social Security.  If it was, though, they may be responsible for some of my utilities getting cut off this month.  If I can't pay the electricity, though, the heat will most likely put me back in the hospital.  I hate for that to happen because it's a big expense for Medicare, besides my loathing of hospitals.

This isn't a thought out blog, but a stream of consciousness blog.  It's about the best I can do at the moment.  I will certainly be glad when this illness is over.  Hopefully I will get the problem with Social Security solved and won't have to cut off any utilities and will be able to buy food.  That's all for now.  Have a good day.
