Bring it on!

So the other day I watched part of a segment on the History Channel about what would happen if all the worlds untapped oil just disappeared instantly, and it made me almost piss myself laughing. It also helped me realize what I pretty much already assumed.

All you fuckers would be fucked in the ass, and would probably die of starvation.

They talked about how food is transported to our grocery stores, how plastic is made, and how pretty much everything we do see, eat, touch, enjoy depends on oil.  I also learned that our obnoxious existence has already eaten up half of the worlds crude.  Of course the States have some on reserve - but they'd also be beating people off with a stick who would try to get at it.  It would probably be a big fuck you to Canada... but we really don't need the states for anything but a military and a distraction.

I live in Canada, and am an avid outdoors-person.  I know how to catch me some fish, gut em, and cook em too.  I can load, clean, and shoot a shot gun... and make my own weapons when ammo gets low.   I know how to build shit, and am pretty creative and a great problem solver.  I basically know how to live comfortably amongst nature.. and how to use it to stay alive.

You iphone, Gps, can't cook food if the power goes out assholes are screwed!  And it's funny!  Hilarious how we've all come so dependent on modern conveniences.  Look around... I bet not fucking 2 of you can honestly say that you've been somewhere where you, your clothes, and the fillings in your teeth were the only man made things for miles.  It's pretty overwhelming when you really think about it.  If we threw out or sold everything we have, but don't absolutely need to survive we'd have a few non perishables and a bucket of water.  Thankfully in the case where oil did disappear most of you would die off before you invaded the natural resources we have... and the people who already know about them and use them would be the new oil lords and massively rich.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I'm moving to a cottage up in Northern Ontario around the beautiful and resource filled Georgian Bay.  I'll enjoy my cheap land and shitty little shack of a home.. as weather and creatures can't get it... it's serving a purpose. I may or may not have a computer in order to have a job.. but preferably I'd like to work helping people build their cottages and fix their snow mobiles and boats.... kinda like Amish barn raising.

Truth is.. you don't know the value of hard work, unless you work directly to provide necessity for yourself and family.  For example: growing, hunting, and preparing your own food - not taking off the plastic.
