Making A Difference

I was just thinking, whose really making a difference in the world today?

Like, whose really trying to change things?

First I thought about the government, and all that.

Then I thought about all the teenagers and young adults and what we're doing to change the world.

It was overwhelming to think about how much we do to make a difference.

I mean, if you really think about it, youre not going to see a middle aged person in a suit

participating in a protest or gathering petitions to help stop animal cruelty or to plant more trees in a local park.

But its more than likely youll see someone under the age of 21 holding up a sign or running around getting signatures.

Then I thought of how in some societies teenagers are labeled as irresponsible and lazy.

It irritated me because theres alot of teenagers out there doing more to benefit the world in the future than most adults do.

For example, the recent incident in Burma.I saw many teenagers and young adults wearing T-shirts,

writting letters, spreading the awarness of what was really going on.

There are many protest groups and non-profit movements in the world trying to change things for the the future,

and the majority of people involved in them arent even old enough to vote.

Which brings up another question, why are the people who are working so hard to change the world and make a difference

said to be to young and not mature enough to vote? Why are the people who have the biggest say in what happens to us

the people who dont put in any effort to make a change?

I know there are some adults out there who also try to make a difference and organize charities and protests, and I have much respect for them.

But what if all adults gave what we give? What if they all tried that much harder to help benefit the worlds future?

I think if that where the care we'd have an almost completely different society.

What are your thoughts?
