No this is not a blog about the internet or how small technology has made the global community, instead it is an old fashioned reminiscence, appeal, and admonition.

Recently I had the opportunity to spend a few days with my brother who I hadn't seen in over 12 years (different coasts, busy lifes, families of our own etc.).

I gotta tell you that in those few brief days I remembered just how important the need to keep in touch with your loved ones is. Now I'm not saying that we hadn't talked to each other or anything like that (the usual phone calls on our birthdays, kid's birthdays, major holidays etc) but it just is not the same as a face to face visit. He and I really connected and re-cconnected in a way that makes me realize how much i missed his company.

Is there a point to this besides me blathering on about how much I missed my brother? I guess there is and my point is, if you have an important person in your life that you haven't seen in too long,make every effort to do  so. The rewards are well worth the costs.

And further, if you have an important person in your life that you have become estranged from, make the effort to re-connect before it is too late. I can't promise that the result will be to your liking but at least you will have made the effort. Who knows maybe that small gesture will be the catalyst for change in your relationship with the lost sheep or even a life changing event for you.

Well I guess that's enough for now good luck and be the better person and reach out, You may get more back than you ever expected.
