The emergency number worldide for cell phones is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and your cell will search for any existing network to establish a connection for the call. interestingly you can dial this number even when the key pad is locked.

2. locked car keys

Have you ever loced your keys in the car? if you have a remote keyless entry this will come in handy someday. if you lock your keys in the car and the spare remote is at home, call someone at home on there cell phone. hold your cell phone about a foot from your door and have the other person at home press the unlock button holding it near there cell phone and your car door will unlock. distance is no object, and it really works, beats breaking a window or calling a lock smith.

3. hidden battery power

If your battery is very low, press *3370# and your cell phone will restart with about 50% more battery then before. this reserve will get charged the next time your phone is plugged in.

4. How to disable a stolen cell phone.

to check your cells serial #, key in *#06# a 15 digit code will appear. this # is unique to your cell. write it down and put it in a safe place. if your phone gets stolen, you can call your service provider and give them this code, and they will be able to block your cell phone. do even if the theif changes the sim card, your phone will be useless. you wont get your phone back but atleast they cant use or sell it. if everybody does this it would be pointless to steal cell phones!

cell companys are charging $1.00 to $1.75 for 411 calls. just use 800-free411 or 800-373-3411 and you wontget chared for the directory assistance.
