Scales, how tired I am after learning so many scales! You know, there are practically like thousands of scales out there! What I feel that is that scales should be learn. But practicing and learning a dozen of them, would not be too useful. For me, I feel that guitarist should learn : Chromatic scale, pentatonic scale, pure minor scale, major scale, harmonic scales.Well, it is no doubt tough work. But ' No Pain No Gain!' so are you willing to put in the effort to learn them? Of course, scales isn't EVERYTHING, other techniques such as bending and vibrato requires practicing too! To be an excellent guitarist, what you would need to do is to strike a balance between each skill, this way, mastering the solo you had always dream of, would be much much easier.
