Menstruation and Men

Men are pigs. Men are dogs. These are statements I've heard (usually directed at me) quite a bit. Men are only interested in sex.

It is true that we men are consumed by thoughts of sex. We are sexually driven. It's in our programming. When we are in public and we see an attractive female we want to look. If she is showing skin we are almost compulsed to stare or at least sneak a peek. Our hormones run us in a way that some females cannot understand.

They try to assign rational motives to our irrational, primative urges to mate with as many females as we can in order to propogate our genetic material. It is the way we evolved (or the way God created us) in order to make copies of ourselves, which is the purpose of every living organism from a platypus to a flu virus.

Because of this driving, hardwired, totally natural instinct, we are labled as pigs and dogs. Women judge us if we do not supress these urges and instead, ogle a pair of boobs or shapely set of legs.

I am guessing that if men had periods and PMS controlled our behavior for a week each month, instead of receiving understanding from women, we would be labled as assholes. When women act bitchy with PMS (again, due to hormones and natural instincts) men are called insensitive if we do not understand.

Tell you what, ladies... we will not say another word about PMS if you let us stare at your boobs. Or... you can just stop acting bitchy during your period and fight nature the way we are expected to do.

PS. I don't think men would be bitchy if we had periods. I think it might be more like this blog I wrote months ago:
