My hideous broken arm

A couple months ago, I broke my arm and wrist in three places (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/user/blog//view=80816975/).  I had a spiral fracture in my radius, lost a ligament that attached my ulna to my wrist (breaking a chunk of the ulna off in the process), and ground one of my carpels down to crumbs.  I got the cast off a couple weeks ago.  I was told that my wrist would never be 100% due to the injury when the cast was put on.  I was prepared for this.  I expected to have a loss of strength and/or mobility.  I expected to have pain during cold weather, etc.  I was not prepared for my arm being crooked.

I got the cast sawed off and noticed it looks like my hand isn't mounted properly on my arm.  It's clearly crooked.  What's more, my hand and arm is totally retarded now.  After a week of physical therapy, they did some tests on me.  I can squeeze with 145 pounds of force (that's bone crunching) with my right hand and only 35 pounds (that's feeble) with my left.  I can curl my wrist 90 degrees with my right arm and only 35 degrees with my left.

I'm so spastic with my left hand that I can't fish my cell phone out of my left pocket with my left hand.  I have to reach over with my right.  My wife bought a new bed the other day.  I was trying to put it together and failed miserably.  I couldn't hold things up with my left hand.  If I held them up with my right hand, I lacked the coordination to put screws in with my left.

I was at the physical therapist after work today, bitching about my situation.  Another patient sat down next to me while I was giving a litany of my limitations.  This guy was recovering from multiple fractures of both elbows and forearms.  He was a fucking train wreck.  I don't even know how he would be able to wipe his own ass.  I promptly shut the fuck up.

Yeah, having a crooked arm that doesn't work 100% is a bitch, but it could be worse.

With hard work, my PT thinks I can eventually get 70% function in my hand and wrist.  I go see an orthopedist in a couple weeks about the crookedness.
