I drove past a business tonight whose elaborate decorations have always got me in the Christmas mood but this year it is different. Earlier today I passed a Salvation Army bell ringer and my reply to his "Have a merry Christmas!" was an unflinching "Ya - right". I can't seem to find anything but cynicism and emotional numbness. 

I have a few ideas why this year is different. It could be that my marriage is hanging by its last thread. It might be the fact that my job has been kicking my ass for the past 6 months with nothing but pressure and overtime. I can also point to the fact that I heard Christmas music in a department store 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. For fucks sake, we still haven't finished the Halloween candy yet.

On a lighter note, I would like to thank some of the people who have come back to the blogs.  ESD, Creeping_Jennie, the big  bad, DrG to name a few. Hell, even neko stirred the pot and helped inspire a few blogs. She is a mizuka alt right?
