His followers lost jobs, homes, and their life savings on his last prediction,

but not to worry.  It won't be that much longer.  Harold Camping has come out with a new claim for the definite date of the rapture now, though, so we should all be prepared on that date.  San Francisco Chronicle reports.

"Camping, the 89-year-old East Bay preacher who gained international fame with his prediction that the rapture would come at 6 p.m. Saturday, said that he misinterpreted the Bible and that May 21 was not really the end of the world but the spiritual beginning of the physical end.

'Were not changing a date at all; we're just learning that we have to be a little more spiritual about this,' he said in a rambling 90-minute radio broadcast that was part sermon, part press conference. 'But on Oct. 21, the world will be destroyed. It won't be five months of destruction. It will come at once.'"

Just because he was wrong the first two times doesn't mean he'll be wrong the third!  After all, the third time's a charm.

Camping should set up a fund for all those poor unbelievers who are going to be left here without any Christians to help them, set to be paid out on October 22, 2011.  Isn't that what Jesus said to do?

Luke 18:22 (New International Version)

When Jesus heard this, he said to him, You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

Matthew 19:21 (New International Version)

Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

After all, he won't need all those millions he's been raking in with his prophecy.

It would only be right to leave behind Christian help for those left behind.
