Kony 2012 is BS!!!

I was going to leave this topic to someone else, but since all is quiet on the western front, I figured I might as well dive in with a scathing review of the film and the idea behind it. This will be tame in comparison to how the people who actually live there reacted to it in Uganda. After watching it they were screaming and throwing rocks at the screen.

There are at least three countries in that region that are more or less involved with kidnapping, rape, murder, slavery and the extraction of rare earth minerals. They are Uganda, Rwanda, and the Congo. Those regions are rich with gold and rare earth minerals the Congo being the richest. Uganda and Rwanda rebel forces often invade the Congo because it is basically a country without a government. Tribalism is normal in all three regions, has been for centuries, that is why they go around killing each other if there is a prize to be had. Many African countries are like this, Somalia is another great example.
Yes Kony is or maybe was an evil leader, (hasn't been seen in six years, I think) , but he is just fulfilling his role as a brutal rebel leader. If it wasn't him someone else would step in and do it. The current president of Uganda is even more brutal and a far more effective killing machine than Kony ever was. Yoweri Museveni has been the dictator there since 1986. He's a dictator because he has to be to keep at least some of his country stable. Museveni rounded up two million men, women and children into camps under the guise that Kony was coming to get them. Like lemmings they followed and then his army systematically executed them. And this is the man that we are to send troops to help flush out Kony?
If people are really concerned about this horrifying situation and really want to make a difference in that region, there is actually something you can do.Stop buying so many God damned cell phones, i-Pads, i-Phones and Blackberries. Because that is what is really fuelling that insanity over there. Your over indulgence in these gadgets is creating a huge demand for rare earth minerals.
The Chinese have put a strangle hold on rare earth minerals so that they can get the raw materials to manufacture them. And like fucking lemmings we buy the damn things. Why the hell do I keep seeing every female whether walking down the street or driving her car habitually texting? It's madness, absolute madness. If you need a cell phone, get a used one. There are literally millions of functioning cell phones tucked away in drawers around the world. Use it until it's broken or at least to the point the demand for rare earth minerals subsides.
It won't happen, technology is the heroine of today and for a long time coming. No teenager and most adults will ever give up their i-Pad or MP3 player to make the world a better place, they will just ignorantly ignore the truth and pretend to help by supporting a war to get the Bogeyman. Like the Lemmings of the Jews in the second world war, like the Lemmings of the people who supported the second Iraq war, like the Lemmings of the Ugandans in President Museveni's slaughter camps, people will follow like lemmings into a conflict in Africa.
If you really give a shit, Google Coltan, rare earth minerals, the afore mentioned countries, China +rare earth minerals. It's extremely important to know what is really happening and how it affects you.
