A woman in South Carolina was handcuffed, arrested, put in jail and fined for cheering when her daughter went up on stage to receive her diploma. The crowd was asked to keep quiet until the end of the proceedings but I guess the Black Momma couldn't help herself.



Apparently, excess  cheering is frowned upon in many districts in the US with many students having to complete community service before receiving their diplomas. 



Either some people have no sense of discretion or the authorities including school administrators have become dictatorial. Either case, not a good sign considering the importance of such an event.
