Limited Characters in Blogs?

I submitted a blog earlier this evening and 9/10th's of it was gone after submitting. There was no point in leaving what was left so I deleted it. I read a post by a revisiting blogger, he mentioned he had to post his blog in two submissions for which he seemed unhappy with. Did his blog get reduced accidentally by this site? Is there some limit to characters that is not public knowledge?
