Ebaumsworld Chess Champion

Recently there's been much discussion about who's the Ebaumsworld's chess champion. A lot of users have tried their luck in chess matches against me, with different results. I've so far defeated well over 20 Ebaumsworld users in chess. I don't claim that I'm invincible. As I've already said, I've lost a few matches. For example, both Scoobyfoo and StoryBox have won in chess with me.

The thing at hand is that today Scoobyfoo claimed that he's the Ebaumsworld's chess champion. And he argumented that with... the fact that he was able to win with me and that I didn't manage to defeat him. The thing is, Scoobyfoo didn't play with any other Ebaumsworld user than me. Also, he's not the only opponent I played with that has won a match with me. He and Storybox are on the same boat, but...

What's strange is, Scoobyfoo's claim is only based on... winning with ME! So, doesn't that sole fact make me the Ebaumsworld's chess champion? Why should a win against me determine that title? Also, how does Scoobyfoo deserve that title more than StoryBox (actually, I'd say StoryBox is a much better player than him).

This brings us to tournament rules. If you played in a 5 round tourney and you'd lose 4 games, but you'd win one of them, and your sole win would be against the person who has the most wins in the whole tournament you've played that day... who gets the gold medal? That player who won 4/5 matches, of course. In fact, you'd be somewhere on the bottom of the board with your puny one win.

What I'm saying is, if you seriously want to determine who's the better chess player, let's have a tournament. The player who wins most matches would become the champion.

This is a fair way to determine who's the better chess player - me, StoryBox or Scoobyfoo. Another thing is, it was night when I played with Scoobyfoo, same with Storybox. We've played friendly matches and I was drunk when I played some of them. So the question here is - would they win if I wasn't exhausted and if I played sober? Who knows.

Another thing is, StoryBox is a brilliant, diverse player. Scoobyfoo is a repetitive meagre opponent. If I agreed that even though I've won most matches against Ebaums users, the champion's title goes to either StoryBox or Scoobyfoo, there's no discussion here - that would be StoryBox, not Scoobyfoo.

Moreover, in the first match I played against StoryBox, I was trying to feel her game and I was losing badly by points, but... at some point I attacked her king with a successful attempt at checking StoryBox. So, what happened? I achieved a certain check mate and was 2 moves away from victory when I timed out. LOL. No shit. We played speed chess. So, technically, StoryBox won, but when it comes for skill? Also, I chatted a lot with her during our match, so if I didn't talk so much with her, I'd be able to exacute my check mate. In another game with her I drawn, where I had 4 pawns against her knight, which she masterfully maneuvered to take out my pawns and sacrificed her knight, which ended our match with a draw for insufficient material.

Another thing is, if we compare different stats, we'll get different winners:

Champion by number of wins against other Ebaumsworld users - Me

Champion by highest chess.com rating - Me (I have a much higher rating than any of them in standard chess and bullet)

Champion by highest rated defeated opponent - Me (I've defeated someone ranked over 600 points higher than me)

Champion by whoever defeated me - StoryBox (her rating is much higher than Scoobyfoo's)

So, if we count all 4 requirements, then I win.

Then again, I've drawn a game with StoryBox, so does that make us equal players? I've also drawn with Scoobyfoo at least once.

But even though I'm considered the best chess player on Ebaumsworld, I do realise I'm not undefeatable.

My idea is, we should star an Ebaumsworld chess league and play against each other. then we can have a tourney. This might be the only way we could determine who's the Ebaumsworld's chess champion.
