PS4: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. The PS4 is released on November 15 in North America for $ 399. That's $ 100 less than the Xbox One, which includes the Kinect accessory. It goes on sale in Europe on November 29 (399/349 dollars), followed by launches in South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, sometimes December. Last but not least, Japan has February 22, 2014.

2. For early adopters, Sony throws in beautiful gifts, including a free month of PlayStation Plus, free month of Sony Music Unlimited subscription and a credit of $ 10 PlayStation.

3. Unfortunately, you can not play PS3 games on the PS4. The same goes for most devices. Except for the PS Move any PS3 peripherals (controllers, etc.) are compatible with the PS4. The same goes for older Bluetooth headsets headphones, at least for now.

4. The PS4 can play Blu-ray discs and DVDs, but not CDs or MP3 (for the moment) and currently does not read all files on a USB external storage device (through its two USB ports) except aa system patches (need PS4 in "safe mode" special system to make updates through a USB key). This is a big disappointment. At its launch, it can not play Blu-ray 3D (no more than the Xbox One). Note that the old PS3 supports CD, MP3, Blu-ray 3D and play files from external storage devices.

5 . PS4 and Xbox offer very similar hardware specs , but both consoles are not exactly the same on the inside. Feeding the PS4 is integrated in the system , while the Xbox however, a large external power supply unit . The processor combines a PS4 CPU AMD eight-core "Jaguar" , with a new generation of AMD Radeon GPU and 8GB 5500MHz GDDR5 memory . Both consoles are very similar processors , but GPU PS4 is strong ( and 5500MHz GDDR5 RAM is faster than the Xbox One 2133MHz DDR3 RAM). On paper , at least , the PS4 has the advantage of gaming performance . ( Extremetech has a good overview of how the final hardware specifications to compare the two systems. ) But you can still expect the game look almost identical on each system. Whether this will change with time as the game developers to understand how to get the most out of each system.
