RIP Rear Passenger Side Tire

Well, I suppose it's a lucky thing that my husband starts his leave today.  I was just about to head into the nearby town to take a few formal dresses and other things to a consignment store, then get a few groceries.  I strap the baby in the car, and start heading down my driveway.  As soon as I got onto the pavement, I could tell something wasn't right.  A strange sound that I'd never heard before.  Sounded kind of like a high pitched helicopter, really.  I turned around as soon as I could and drove back up my driveway.  I got out and looked.  Sure enough, the right side rear tired had finally gone flat.  I knew it would happen, I just wish I didn't happen now.

About five months ago, my husband and I noticed a bubble in the tire.  This is, as some might know, due to a manufacturing defect.  It weakens the tire greatly.  So, we decided to just be careful with it and in the mean time, we'd contact Bridgestone and see what we could do about a replacement since they do a guarantee on them (don't remember what it is, but we don't even have 30,000 miles on that car).  Well, here it is, much time later, and it's dead.  And the husband never followed up with the people at Bridgestone, so he has something to do this afternoon.

Sigh...  Goodbye tire.  You were so strong, lasting for so long with such a terminal defect.  You will be missed.
